SynopsisAs a director, navigating the intense pressure of delivering a successful production without burning the team emotionally and psychologically is a complex challenge. Drawing on two decades of experience in the Singapore theatre scene, and his master’s thesis on arts pedagogy, Adib Kosnan reframes the rehearsal room as a "rehearsal for life".
In this intimate workshop held under Chatham House confidentiality rules, we will start from sharing your challenging real-life situations in previous rehearsal spaces, whether you were a director/choreographer, performer, designer, or backstage professional. With your consent, Adib will then facilitate and workshop some scenarios collaboratively, to support the group in cracking open new ways of resolving interpersonal conflicts and often unspoken power dynamics.
Participate in this workshop to discover how to actively fulfill a team's needs, as well as satisfy artistic creativity, vision, and craft.
Please note:
There are no prerequisites to participate. However, should the workshop be oversubscribed, we will select a broad group of participants from different disciplines, backgrounds and interests.

Theatre Practitioner, Facilitator and EducatorAdib Kosnan is a theatre practitioner, facilitator and educator who is passionate about creating platforms for communication and care through theatre. He is also an Associate Artist with Checkpoint Theatre and a founding member of the playwriting collective, Main Tulis Group (MTG).
