SYNOPSIS

How can divinatory practices support us to understand our positions as arts workers in systemic structures and creative ecosystems? The Artists’ Institute for Quantum Kinship, led by transdisciplinary artists Ang Kia Yee and Salty Xi Jie Ng, shares a rich spread of pathways at this workshop-gathering.

The group will first lay out and ferment questions around labour and authority within the local arts ecosystem, then explore self-authority as a collective form of power within this Saturn in Aries period (Feb 2026 - April 2028). Subsequently, recognising affirmations as emotional tools, you are invited to partake in an affirmations soundtrack with collective statements from the local arts community, and then write and share affirmations of your own. As a digestif, Kia Yee and Salty will offer light and energy work to invite the release of old constructs, and to anchor in our innate power.

Please note:

  • There are no prerequisites to participate. However, should the workshop be oversubscribed, we will select a broad group of participants from different disciplines, backgrounds and interests.

  • We will confirm your participation by 17 Aug, and will send any materials and further information then.

Artists

The Artists’ Institute for Quantum Kinship, run by astrologer Ang Kia Yee and akashic records practitioner Salty Xi Jie Ng (she/her), both artists, investigates the symbiosis between artistic and divinatory practices, particularly how they intersect with artistic labour and systemic conditions in Singapore’s art ecosystem.
